Greetings from Dr. Deana Coley, Point of Contact/Acting Administrator
Davidson Online Academy
Davidson Online Academy Parents:
We have now officially completed the first quarter. My hope is that you and your child have had a good experience in these first nine weeks at Davidson Online Academy.
Let me begin by introducing myself. My name is Deana Coley. I am the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum with Davidson County Schools. Beginning with the second quarter, I will be your point of contact/acting administrator for Davidson Online Academy for the remainder of this school year.
We are excited about some new changes we will be implementing and possible events that will be forthcoming. The purpose of this email is to share information with you in preparation of these changes being implemented next week.
We are committed to providing engaging and rigorous daily lessons, clear and concise instruction, offering small group instruction to meet individual student needs and providing prompt feedback on assignments. In doing so, we have made some minor adjustments to the class schedules for teachers to provide instruction for reading, math, science and social studies. Your child's teacher will communicate any class schedule changes with you. We ask for your understanding in these changes as we are working to ensure that we provide the best instruction for your child. We appreciate your patience and support as we have worked through the many issues since the opening of Davidson Online Academy. Our teachers have been working extremely hard in this new environment of online learning and so have our students.
I am very excited about this journey with you in the Davidson Online Academy and look forward to our partnership in educating your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me and I am happy to respond.
